The New England Patriots won the AFC East last season, but the division could be getting a lot tougher in the next few years.

Right now, the Buffalo Bills and Patriots are the class of the division. However, the Miami Dolphins made some big changes and could be on the rise. They believe Malik Willis can be their quarterback for years to come, but the New York Jets may not be competitive until they get a real franchise quarterback.

The Jets have some talented players, like Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson, but until they have a reliable quarterback, they are not a threat to win the division. Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski projected that they would get their franchise quarterback in the next NFL Draft by selecting Arch Manning.

"Arch Manning won't enter the 2026 campaign as the Bleacher Report Scouting Department's QB1," Sobleski wrote on Friday. "He's still slotted here for two reasons. First, he can claim top status through continued development. Second, the New York Jets can't overlook the marketability factor. Gang Green will enter this season knowing it's an evaluation year. This offseason, the team's front office did an excellent job raising the roster's talent floor. At the same time, Geno Smith is not the solution at quarterback. He may not even finish out the 2026 campaign since the Jets may want to see what fourth-round rookie Cade Klubnik can do before entering next offseason."
