Nebraska lands commitment from four-star recruit Nehemiah Ombati

Nebraska picked up a commitment from a class of 2027 defensive lineman. Four-star prospect Nehemiah Ombati made the announcement on social media.

Ombati is the 44th overall defensive lineman in the 2027 class, and the third overall player in his class from the state of Minnesota, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. He measures in at 6-foot-3, 275 pounds.

The recruit also had offers from Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Kansas State. He took two visits to Nebraska during the recruiting process, one on April 21 and one on June 5. He had a strong junior season for Shakopee High School, recording 70 total tackles, six tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in nine games played.

This is another big get for a 2027 recruiting class that continues to be strong. The class itself has 16 overall commitments, including six blue-chip prospects. The class ranks 17th overall according to the Rivals Team Rankings.

The Huskers have done a solid job with recruiting the defensive line for this class. They now have four commits at that position, as they look to rebuild the unit. Ombati’s commitment certainly helps with that.
