Katie Taylor lands 'bucket list' retirement fight at Croke Park

It's happening: A Katie Taylor fight will headline at Croke Park.

It was announced Friday that Taylor, in what is expected to be her final fight, will take on unbeaten French fighter Flora Pili at the 82,000-seat capacity stadium on home soil in Dublin.

Taylor, 39, twice fought against Chantelle Cameron at Dublin’s 3 Arena in 2023, losing once, but she made it clear earlier this year that headlining Croke Park, home of the Gaelic Athletic Association, was a dream of hers. Now that dream is a reality.

“It is going to be very, very special, and I want to put on a performance worthy of everyone’s support over these last few years," Taylor told reporters Friday at a press conference. "... This has been on my career bucket list, especially the last couple of months, but this is beyond my wildest dreams."

Taylor (25-1), who holds IBF, WBA and WBO championships, hasn't competed since last July, when she beat Amanda Serrano by majority decision in their trilogy fight.

Pili, 28, is 12-0 with two knockouts. She holds the IBO title and is the mandatory challenger to Taylor's IBF title.
