21-year-old Japanese forward Keisuke Goto has been officially unveiled as a new SC Freiburg player.

“He likes to run in behind, has a good feel for space and knows how to operate in the penalty area. He will certainly need some time to settle in and continue his development – and he will get that time. We’re excited to have him on board!”
Goto, who is currently preparing to represent Japan at the World Cup, said:
“SC Freiburg showed a lot of interest in me a few months ago. From the very beginning, I felt that the club really wanted me, and that was one of the main reasons why I decided to join Freiburg. I’ve also watched some of the team’s Europa League matches. For me, SC Freiburg are a big club, and I’m really looking forward to the season ahead.”
The 21-year-old spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Sint-Truiden, scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists in 40 appearances.
