The Wisconsin Badgers football program has been racking up all the spotlight with a strong start to official visits. But their basketball program picked up a huge commitment on Friday, landing four-star in-state guard Jalen Brown after recruiting him for nearly the past year.
Brown, who attends Wauwatosa West in Milwaukee, has been one of the best players in the state of Wisconsin in the Class of 2027, being ranked No. 3 by 247Sports behind only high four-stars Dooney Johnson and Donovan Davis.

The combo guard, who stands 6’4, 180 pounds, has been a steady riser in the 2027 class, averaging 20.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 2.9 steals per game this past season.
He has arguably been the biggest target for the Badgers in the class, and had 12 offers prior to his commitment, including ones from Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana, Nebraska, and Washington, among others. But Wisconsin had always felt like the leader in his recruitment, as the staff had gone out to watch him play quite often, just as he had made several trips to Madison.
Brown is a huge centerpiece for the 2027 class, and Wisconsin is still looking to add to the group in what could be one of their better high school classes overall.
As it stands, Brown is currently Wisconsin’s highest-rated guard commit of all time in the recruiting rankings era, according to 247Sports, and the fifth highest-rated recruit ever.
