Washington football surging in race for elite four-star Texas WR

Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies coaching staff have had four-star wide receiver Tre Moore at the top of their board in the 2027 class for a very long time.

Now, as the 6-foot-3, 200-pound product of Pflugerville Weiss High School in Texas, who is ranked as the nation's No. 160 overall prospect and No. 21 wide receiver in the class—according to the 247Sports Composite—moves closer to a decision, the Huskies are still firmly at the head of the pack. Moore has whittled his list of 43 offers down to a final three of Miami, Ohio State, and Washington, and appears to be close to a decision.

He's set to take an official visit with the Hurricanes on June 5, before heading to Columbus on June 12, and wrapping things up with the Huskies on June 19. The trip to Seattle will be his third after taking an unofficial visit for UW's matchup with Illinois in late October, and a two-day unofficial trip in April to watch a spring practice.

Now, as he appears to move closer to a decision, Moore would be a massive victory for wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings as the Huskies look to move further into Texas and expand their reach on the recruiting trail. During his junior year, Moore pulled in 85 catches for 1,443 yards and 19 touchdowns while showing off all the traits that Fisch and his coaching staff search for in early contributors.

Moore excels in contested catch scenarios and is able to stretch the field with great speed, finding ways to win at all three levels. He displays the ability to pick up yards after the catch with ease, while he also runs a complete route tree and can easily create separation from defenders with his footwork.

If he were to choose the Huskies, Moore would add to a high-end crop of wide receivers that already includes four-stars Braylon Pope and Zerek Sidney, while Washington also holds a crystal ball to add a commitment from four-star Dontay Tyson Jr. when he announces his commitment on Friday, June 5.
