The New England Patriots had a busy offseason, and former tight end Rob Gronkowski weighed in on how the moves impact their Super Bowl chances.

Obviously, the big move the Patriots made was acquiring A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles. Brown is a major piece for the offense, but he is not the only new player the Patriots have. They signed Romeo Doubs and also added to their pass rush with Dre'Mont Jones and Gabe Jacas.

Gronkowski was pulling for the Patriots in the Super Bowl last year and saw them come up just short. He thinks the new additions improve their chances of bringing a Lombardi Trophy back to New England.

“They definitely have a chance. They needed this trade,” Gronkowski said on "Up & Adams" on Monday. “They needed that No. 1 receiver in order to compete again, to get back to the Super Bowl or at least get back to the playoffs and have Super Bowl aspirations and be able to be a contender.

“They got Romeo Doubs as well. Their offense is complete. Their defense is very solid. So I see them having another solid year. But that A.J. Brown trade and having him as their No. 1 now elevated this roster big time.”

The Patriots were rumored to add Brown for most of the offseason, but could not get a deal done until June 1. He is a three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champion. Drake Maye was the MVP runner-up last year, and now he has a true No. 1 receiver and reliable secondary option. Stefon Diggs was solid last season, but Brown is a younger, bigger target.
