Tennessee’s ACC/SEC Challenge opponent was revealed on Thursday night for the upcoming season, as Jon Rothstein reported that Tennessee would be hosting Florida State in the annual event. The Volunteers played Syracuse in back to back seasons in the event after going to North Carolina in year one.
Duke at Florida, Arkansas at North Carolina, Texas at Louisville and Kentucky at Virginia are the other headliners of this year’s field, according to Rothstein.
Tennessee is 5-4 all time against the Seminoles. The two sides have not played since 2019.

Florida State joins Tennessee’s always loaded non-conference schedule, adding another big home game to the slate along with Michigan State. The Volunteers will go on the road to face Purdue and will go to Nashville to face N.C. State. Tennessee will open the Players Era Tournament with a game against Maryland with at least two other high profile games to follow in Las Vegas.
Official announcements for this game, along with other official dates on the basketball calendar, will be released at a later date.
