Portland Fire beats Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever at home, 100-84

The Portland Fire beat Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever at the Moda Center May 30, besting the visiting team 100-84.

This was the second meeting between the two teams. A Clark-less Fever beat the Fire in Indiana on May 20 90-73. It's also the second consecutive loss on the road for Indiana.

The Fire's victory came after a brutal loss to the Atlanta Dream on May 29.

But against the Fever, power forward Megan Gustafson and guard Carla Leite led the charge with a combined 40 points to grab the win for Portland. Small forward Emily Engstler scored 16 and guard Sarah Ashlee Barker sank another 15.

The May 30 match bring's the Fire's record to 6-4 as it begins its inaugural season under its current ownership. The team lay dormant for more than two decades after its initial three-season run in Portland.

The Fire will next take on the Golden State Valkyries on June 2.
