Official: Eintracht Frankfurt reappoint Adi Hütter as head coach

Adi Hütter will take over as head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt on 1 July, 2026, the Hessen club officially announced this morning.

For Hütter, has signed a contract until 30 June, 2029, it's a return to familiar territory having already coached Frankfurt from 2018 to 2021.

In his first season on the Main River, Eintracht won all six group stage matches of the UEFA Europa League and reached the semi-finals.

The following year in 2019 they repeated the trick in the DFB-Pokal and qualified for the UEFA Europa League again in the 2020-21 campaign.

After that, the 56-year-old coached Borussia Mönchengladbach for one season before moving to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

“Adi Hütter stands for courageous attacking football, clarity, and discipline," explained Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche.

"At his previous clubs, he has demonstrated his ability to combine high-tempo counter-attacking football with possession-based play.

"Most recently at Monaco, he skillfully developed and stabilized one of the youngest teams in the league, enabling them to establish themselves among the top teams in Ligue 1.

"It is also an advantage that Adi is familiar with the structures, the environment, and the people within and around the club, meaning no special settling-in period is necessary.

"We had a very trusting exchange in which Adi, in addition to his proven expertise, conveyed the impression that he is eager and passionate to achieve something new with Eintracht.”
