How is Purple Cap award decided?

The Purple Cap is presented to the highest wicket-taker of a particular edition of the Indian Premier League. At the end of the season, including the playoffs, the bowler who took the most wickets is presented with the award, which is in the shape of a cap and is Purple in colour.

If two bowlers are tied in total wickets taken, then the bowler with the lowest economy rate would win the award.

Who won Purple Cap award in IPL 2026?

Kagiso Rabada won the Purple Cap in IPL 2026. The fast bowling spearhead of Gujarat Titans took the most wickets during the season, thus adding to his excellent performance despite GT's defeat in the final.
