As already reported, Real Madrid are staring at a long and busy summer transfer window with a number of new signings expected.
While the central defence and midfield are expected to be major areas of focus, Los Blancos remain open to reinforcements in the full-back positions as well.

Denzel Dumfries is already set to join to strengthen at right-back, while the left-back position could depend on multiple factors, such as Ferland Mendy’s fitness and Fran Garcia’s future.
Nonetheless, Real Madrid are keeping an eye on the market for targets, with Chelsea ace Marc Cucurella a player that they admire.
Chelsea open to Cucurella sale
Now, according to the Daily Mail (h/t AS), Chelsea are very much open to the idea of selling Cucurella in the summer if they receive suitable offers for the Spaniard.

The 27-year-old had a decent 2025/26 season at Chelsea and is a permanent fixture in the Spanish national team under Luis de la Fuente.

As per the report, the Blues are happy with Cucurella’s performances but will not stand in the way of an exit if that is what the player wants.
It is claimed that the Spanish left-back is keen on a return to his homeland. However, apart from Real Madrid, both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also keeping an eye on his situation.
Where would Cucurella fit in?
Real Madrid already have three left-backs at their disposal, but none of them have been able to firmly establish themselves as the undisputed starter.

Alvaro Carreras’ form faded after a strong start upon his signing last summer, while Ferland Mendy continues to be bogged down by injuries. In fact, the Frenchman is expected to miss the first few months of the new season after undergoing surgery recently.

As for Fran Garcia, the Spaniard is expected to depart in the summer after already coming close to leaving in January. His departure would warrant the signing of a replacement, which is where Cucurella would enter the picture.
However, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid also in the fray, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid make a move.
