Chase Young lobbies for Saints to hurry up and re-sign Cameron Jordan

Chase Young is poised to take on a bigger role with the New Orleans Saints after his breakout 2025 season. The former second overall draft pick had his first year with double-digit sacks and led his unit in snaps played almost every week once he got in the lineup. Now, with Cameron Jordan still biding his time in free agency, Young has stepped up as a leader at OTAs and spring workouts.

But how would he feel about getting Jordan back in the building? When asked just that question, Young lobbied for Jordan to re-sign with the Saints during an appearance on NFL Network with Ian Rapoport and Patrick Claybon.

"Cam, what he's done for this organization past 15 years, it's phenomenal," Young began. "That's the guy who leads the locker room, he's a big brother to me, I've learned a lot from Cam. He's a gold jacket guy, that's just always somebody whose experience you need in the building. If it were me I would love to get OG back in the building."

It sure looks like a captain's patch is in Young's future. But he's aware of the value a respected veteran and future member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame brings to the table. Even this late in his career, Jordan can still make plays and get after the quarterback, and help guide an inexperienced locker room through difficult times. The longer Jordan waits to sign a new deal the more likely it begins to feel like he'll return to New Orleans. But those feelings don't matter until he puts pen to paper. It says a lot that he doesn't have a locker waiting for him anymore.
