Celtics Payton Pritchard says Jaylen Brown comments on Twitch taken wrong way

The people who know Jaylen Brown best in the Boston Celtics do not seem to be too worried about some comments he made on his Twitch stream earlier this offseason. We are of course referring to the Georgia native saying that the NBA's 2025-26 regular season was his favorite just hours after it ended in the first round of the 2026 NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers, naturally raising some eyebrows about what it was that Brown really was trying to say.

But in a recent interview (via Boston Dot Com's Khari A. Thompson), Celtics teammate Payton Pritchard downplayed the Cal alum's words, saying "I think people took it wrong."

"I feel like, with what we were supposed to do this year and overcoming that and becoming the No. 2 seed and having a successful regular season, I think that’s what he meant by that," added Pritchard.

"People kind of targeted this as a regroup, not make the playoffs type of year (for the Celtics) and he had a tremendous year," continued the University of Oregon alum. "He should have been First Team All-NBA."

We agree that Brown ought to have been honored with a First Team nod – and if that is what Fast PP thinks Brown meant by his words, we are inclined to agree as well.
