Calvary’s Kynzee Anderson selected Gatorade Player of the Year again

For a second consecutive postseason, Calvary pitcher and Georgia softball signee Kynzee Anderson has been selected the 2026 Gatorade Louisiana Softball Player of the Year.

Anderson, who was recently selected the Outstanding Player on the LSWA Class 2A All-State team, led Calvary to a sixth consecutive title in May. Here 2026 record was 30-1, and she posted a 0.61 ERA with 318 strikeouts in 171 innings. Anderson has also been named LSWA Miss Softball (2025) and Shreveport Times Pitcher of the Year.

“A well-deserved award,” Calvary coach Tiffany Wood said. “Being able to get one of the highest high school awards two years in a row is just a testament to what kind of player and person Kynzee is.”

Gatorade selects one player from each of the 50 states, plus Washington D.C., in 12 sports for the honor.

Ranked as the nation’s No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2026 by MaxPreps, Anderson hit .290 with three home runs and 25 RBIs. She closed out her career with 129 wins, 1,398 strikeouts and has volunteered locally making handicrafts and playing games at a nursing home. She has also donated her time as a youth softball coach and as part of multiple community service initiatives through her church.

The valedictorian of her Calvary class, Anderson has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.

“Kynzee’s presence on the mound was effortless and commanding at the same time,” said Ashley Hoyle, softball coach of West Ouachita High School, in a release. “She carries herself with a quiet humble confidence. Kynzee is a class act as a person and as a student-athlete.”
